New Delhi, 29th Jan. Political Tourism or Election Preparation? Congress leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam has slammed Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, calling it “political tourism.” While other political parties are gearing up for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Krishnam said that Congress is more focused on future elections in 2029.
Rahul Gandhi’s Bihar Tour
Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is currently underway in Bihar. He started his tour in Kishanganj, a district with a significant Muslim population and a stronghold for the Congress party. This tour comes after the Congress faced a setback when former ally Nitish Kumar returned to the BJP-led NDA.
Addressing the Public
Rahul Gandhi will be addressing a public meeting in Kishanganj and holding rallies in Purnea and Katihar. He will then travel to West Bengal via Araria district and return to Bihar later through Jharkhand.
Alliance Partners Invited
The Congress has invited alliance partners like RJD president Lalu Prasad and CPI(ML)-L general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya to the rally in Purnea.
Congress’s Future Strategy
Acharya Pramod Krishnam said that the Congress party should focus on the upcoming 2024 elections rather than looking too far ahead. He expressed concerns about the credibility of the INDIA bloc, which was seen as a new hope for the opposition.
It remains to be seen how the Congress party will navigate the political landscape and prepare for the upcoming elections.
