Patna, 28th Jan.
Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, has resigned from his position and ended the alliance with Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Rastriya Janata Dal.

He has also staked a claim to form a new government with the support of the BJP.

Kumar met with the Bihar Governor and handed over his resignation, but will continue as caretaker Chief Minister until a new government is formed.

He cited difficulties in working with the alliance as the reason for his resignation.

Kumar’s decision is a setback for the Opposition bloc, which aims to challenge the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP, despite previously closing its doors to Kumar, has now joined forces with him.

The new government will include ministers from JDU, BJP, and Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular).

Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge commented on Kumar’s resignation, stating that they were aware of his decision and that there are many people in the country who change their allegiances frequently.
