Kovind Discusses Simultaneous Elections with Former CJI U U Lalit and Others

 Former president Ram Nath Kovind, who is leading the high-level committee on the issue of simultaneous elections, has consulted with former chief justice of India U U Lalit and the Bar Council of India.

The committee also held a meeting where a presentation was made based on a research paper co-authored by panel member N K Singh and Prachi Mishra.

The paper suggests that simultaneous elections would lead to higher economic growth and increased government investment.

The meeting was attended by various prominent figures including Ghulam Nabi Azad and Harish Salve.

Kovind also held discussions with Deepak Dhavalikar, president of the Maharastrawadi Gomantak Party, who expressed support for the concept of one nation, one election.
