Madhya Pradesh’s tableau in the Republic Day parade on Friday highlighted the empowered and progressive women of the state.

The float conveyed the message that the state has made significant strides in involving women directly in the development process through its welfare programs.

It showcased the progressive journey of women in the state, including their participation in self-help groups, local leadership, and even the aviation sector.

The front part of the float featured Avani Chaturvedi, the first woman fighter pilot of the Indian Air Force from Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district, along with a model of a fighter plane.

The middle section displayed women artists painting pots, the Badal Mahal gate, and weavers of the globally renowned Chanderi, Maheshwari, and Bagh print sarees.

The lower part of the float exhibited a stone carving created by a female artist and a mural painted by Gond tribal artist ‘Padma Shri’ Durga Bai.

The rear section of the float showcased Lahari Bai, India’s Millet Mission ambassador and ‘Millet Woman of India’ from Madhya Pradesh’s Dindori district.

Murals made from millets adorned the lower portion of the float, depicting women.

Additionally, women from the ‘Malwa’ region were seen performing folk dances around the float, representing the vibrant culture of the state.
