Several nations expressed interest in acquiring BrahMos missiles

New Delhi, 26th Jan. In the pursuit of total military sector self-sufficiency, Bharat will soon add another milestone to its list of accomplishments. BrahMos supersonic cruise missile exports will begin in March of this year, according to the Defense Research and Development Organization (DDO). In the next ten days, Bharat will begin exporting ground systems of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, according to DRDO chief Sameer V. Kamat. Following this, the shipment of cruise missiles is scheduled to begin in March of this year. He mentioned that we had shipped the Philippines a lot of weaponry to the Philippines. These days, demands for its export have come from a few more nations.

Within ten days, the Philippines will receive the BrahMos ground system
He declared that the BrahMos ground system will be sent to the Philippines in ten days. By March, missiles will also be delivered following this. According to Sameer Kamat, “DRDO products valued at approximately Rs 4.94 lakh crore have generated interest.” We are moving forward quickly and have received more orders than previously. Compared to the previous five years, this figure has dramatically risen. According to my estimation, almost 70% of all weapon shipments to date have occurred in the previous five to seven years.
Bharat will supply weapons to every country in the world
Our weaponry will all be in foreign forces in the next few years, according to Dr. Sameer Kamat. In addition, a variety of defense hardware, including light aircraft, Arjun tanks and Akash missiles, will be exported. These have also piqued the interest of other nations. It is interesting to note that Bharat already exports weapons to nations such as Armenia. Bharat’s military industry has come a long way, as it used to import even for internal consumption until now. Large-scale exporting is now considered successful, in contrast to that.
Bharat is exporting defense equipment at a rapid pace
Notebally, in 2023, the Bharatiya defense exports shattered all previous records. Bharat has sold weapons to nations throughout the world for over Rs 16 thousand crores. This was the biggest number recorded to date. An arms contract valued at Rs 13,000 crores was signed earlier in 2022. Bharat is producing more defense equipment than ever before. Statistics show that Bharat has produced defense goods worth Rs 1 lakh crore for the first time.
DRDO Chairman added that apart from the Philippines, other countries have also indicated interest in BrahMos missile. According to him, all of ATAGS’s export-ready trials have been finished. “I anticipate that an order for it will be placed prior to March 31st.” He declared that the three armies would soon be equipped with the weaponry that DRDO has been producing up to this point. According to Kamat, the army will soon acquire more of our missiles in addition to the ACA MK-1A, Arjun MK-1A, and QRSAM.
An agreement on missiles was made with the Philippines
In actuality, Bharat and the Philippines signed a $375 million agreement pertaining to BrahMos missiles in January 2022. This was the first deal of its sort to export these 290-kilometer missiles. Three anti-ship missile batteries are to be exported within two years of this agreement. It’s anticipated that BrahMos missiles will be supplied to the Philippines in this series.
