Malkangiri, 24th Jan. The Additional Director General of Police (Operations) in Odisha, Dev Datta Singh, on Tuesday visited the Maoist-affected district of Malkangiri to assess the security situation.
Singh spent two days in the district and inspected areas such as Gurupriya Setu, Tussi Hills, and Swabhiman Anchal, which are known to be strongholds of the Maoists.
He also held discussions with senior officials from the Border Security Force (BSF) and the state police to address security concerns.
During the meeting, he instructed the officials to intensify their efforts in combating the Maoists.
Additionally, Singh visited the Metla Police Station in Jodambo and interacted with the officers there.
He also visited the Mathil Police Station and Tulasi Hills in the border area between Odisha and Chhattisgarh, where he engaged with BSF personnel.
As part of his visit, Singh inaugurated a public relations camp organized by the police and distributed various materials to the villagers.
