Odisha Government Reshuffles Bureaucracy, Transfers 41 IAS Officers

The Odisha government has announced a reshuffle in its bureaucracy, with the transfer of 41 IAS officers, according to an official notification.

The reshuffle includes the transfer of 17 district collectors, as stated in the notification issued by the General Administration & Pension and Grievances Department on Monday.

Officials have revealed that this reshuffle was carried out in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls and assembly elections, which are typically held simultaneously in the state.

Ranjan Kumar Das, the chief administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), has been appointed as the new Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Central Division). He will also assume the additional responsibility of Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division).

Temjenwapang Ao, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division), has been appointed as the Commissioner-Secretary of the Public Enterprises Department.

Ten IAS officers from the 2018 and 2019 batches have been appointed as district collectors for the first time, while officers from the 2020 and 2021 batches have been assigned as ADMs and sub-collectors.

Samarth Verma, the Collector of Puri, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Administrator of the SJTA. Bijay Kumar Das, the Secretary of the State Election Commission, will replace Verma as the Collector of Puri.

K Sudarshan Chakravarthy, the Collector of Khurda, has been appointed as the Director of Minor Minerals. Chanchal Rana, the District Collector of Bolangir, has been appointed as the new Collector of Khurda.

Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, the Commissioner of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), has been appointed as the Director of Rural Development. Siddharth Shankar Swain, the Collector of Angul, will replace him as the CMC Commissioner.

Abadaal Akthar, the Collector of Koraput, has been transferred to Angul, while Keerthi Vasan, the CDO-EO of Ganjam Zilla Parishad, has been appointed as the Collector of Koraput, according to the notification.
