Ayodhya, 22nd Jan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a heartfelt speech on Monday, expressing his joy that Lord Ram will finally have a permanent home instead of residing in a tent.

PM Modi’s voice trembled and he was visibly moved as he spoke about the consecration of the Ram idol in the Ram Temple.

In his address after the Ram Temple pran pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, he said, “Today, our Ram has arrived after generations of waiting. On this auspicious occasion, I congratulate everyone. There is so much to say, but there is a lump in my throat. Ram Lalla will no longer stay in a tent. He will now reside in the magnificent temple. January 22, 2024, is not just a date, but it marks the beginning of a new era. The legal battle over the existence of Lord Ram lasted for decades. I would like to express my gratitude to the judiciary of India for delivering justice. Ram is mentioned in the first verse of our Constitution, yet it took many decades for this to become a reality.”

He added, “Today, I also apologize to Lord Shri Ram. There must have been something lacking in our efforts, sacrifices, and penance that prevented us from completing this work for so many centuries. Today, the work has been accomplished, and I believe that Lord Shri Ram will forgive us.”

Modi said, “I had the opportunity to travel from Sagar to Saryu, and everywhere I went, I witnessed the festive spirit and devotion to Ram’s name. Ram is not just fire; he is energy. Ram is not a dispute; he is the solution. Ram does not belong to just us; he belongs to everyone. Ram is not temporary; he is eternal.”

Earlier today, the Ram Lalla idol “pran Pratishtha” ceremony took place in Ayodhya, an event celebrated throughout India and by Indians around the world. This occasion has been compared to Diwali, symbolizing the joyous festivities that accompanied Ram’s homecoming after defeating Ravan.
