New Delhi, 21th Jan. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday, during a furious verbal spat, counseled Congressman Rahul Gandhi not to go to Srimanta Sankardeva’s birthplace at Batadrava on January 22. He said that his travel to the birthplace of the Vaishnav saint during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will lead to “unnecessary” competition.

On Sunday, Gandhi’s Nyay yatra crossed into Assam from Arunachal Pradesh. According to Sarma, his administration has placed commandos along strategic routes in preparation for the January 22 political parade.

Gandhi’s visit, according to Himanta Biswa Sarma, will cast Assam in a negative light. At a press conference, the chief minister stated, “We will request Rahul Gandhi not to visit Batadrava on Monday during the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple as it will reflect Assam in the wrong light.”

Gandhi, according to him, is free to visit the location following the dedication ceremony without causing “unnecessary competition which will be sad for Assam.” In Assam, Srimanta Sankardeva is highly respected.

According to Sarma, sensitive regions will be traversed during the Congress’ yatra.

In light of the sensitive nature of these regions and the possibility of a law and order crisis, commandos will be stationed along sensitive routes in minority-dominated districts that Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra will pass through on January 22, he stated.

Throughout the Yatra, Rahul Gandhi and Himanta Biswa Sarma have been sniping at one another. The leaders accused one another on Sunday of being afraid.

Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, stated: “He (Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma) is afraid. The Prime Minister is dishonest.

Gandhi, according to Sarma, was even afraid of his child.

“Rahul Gandhi pehle toh mujhse darta tha, ab mere bacche se bhi darna shuru kar diya,” he stated.
