New Delhi, 21th Jan. Prior to the highly anticipated “Pran Pratishtha,” or the dedication ceremony of the Ram Temple, Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed a roadshow in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, on Saturday, January 20. There, the public enthusiastically greeted him and showered him with flowers during his cavalcade.

He was in Rameswaram for the Sri Arulmigu Ramanathaswamy Temple’s darshan and puja.

PM Modi participated in a function earlier in the day at the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, where academics performed Kamba Ramayanam verses.

The prime minister also asked “Andal,” an elephant in the temple grounds, for blessings. On Saturday, PM Modi went to the temple after receiving holy water from the ‘Agnitheerth’ seashore.

The Shiva temple, which is tucked away in the Rameswaram island in Tamil Nadu’s Ramanathapuram district, has a close relationship to the Ramayana because Lord Ram installed the Shiva linga there.

It was here where Sita Devi and Lord Ram prayed. As the first prime minister to visit Ranganathaswamy Temple, PM Modi was welcomed warmly by BJP members and the local populace when he arrived on this spot via an Air Force helicopter.

PM Modi will travel to Tamil Nadu, the birthplace of Ram Setu.

On Sunday morning (Jan 21), at 9:30 am, the Indian prime minister, who is conducting an 11-day ‘anusthan’ (special ritual) in advance of the consecration event, is scheduled to visit the Ram Setu’s origin.

He is scheduled to offer a prayer at Sri Kothandarama Swamy temple at 10:15 a.m. The name of the temple, which represents Rama with the bow, is Dhanushkodi. On Ram Temple Day, PM Modi presents commemorative postage stamps.

Prior to this, on Thursday, PM Modi had issued a book of stamps honoring Lord Ram from various nations as well as commemorative postal stamps.

As to the officials, the elements of the design encompass the Ram temple, the sun, the Saryu river, the verse ‘Mangal Bhavan Amangal Hari’, and the sculptures situated within and surrounding the temple.

The 48-page book featured stamps from the United Nations as well as nations like the USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, and Cambodia. According to PM Modi, the postal stamps were more than just pieces of paper or simple artwork—they were tools for bringing the historical event to the next generation.

Postage stamps can be compared to a piece of history that is being sent. These postal stamps are more than just blank canvases or pieces of art. They are independent works of art and little epics,” he remarked.

The Ayodhya temple is anticipated to open to the public the very next day, and the Indian prime minister is likely to attend the event set for Monday, January 22.
