Kerala Court Finds 15 Men Linked to PFI Guilty in BJP Leader’s Murder Case

A court in Kerala on Saturday convicted 15 men for the murder of a BJP OBC wing leader in December 2021 in this coastal district.

The individuals found guilty are associated with the Popular Front of India (PFI), a radical Islamist group that has since been banned. Ranjith Sreenivasan, the state secretary of the BJP OBC Morcha, was brutally attacked and killed in his home on December 19, 2021, in front of his family. The attackers were allegedly activists affiliated with PFI and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI).

The verdict was delivered by the Additional District Sessions Court I in Mavelikkara.

The sentencing will be announced on Monday.

The murder of the BJP leader took place shortly after the killing of SDPI leader K S Shan, who was attacked by a gang on the night of December 18 while returning home in Alappuzha.
