Jammu, 19th Jan. BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh slammed Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, for referring to the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya as a “political function.”
Chugh argued that this stance reflects their opposition to Lord Ram.
He accused the Congress of consistently engaging in divisive politics that goes against Indian cultural values.
Chugh emphasized that the consecration ceremony is a matter of national faith, with people from all castes and communities participating.
He expressed disappointment that the Congress is politicizing the event by choosing to abstain from it.
Chugh said, Congress leaders have a history of disrespecting symbols of the nation’s faith. Chugh highlighted that while the entire country is celebrating Lord Ram, the Congress is taking a disruptive stance contrary to popular sentiment.
He noted that invitations to the Ayodhya function have been extended to everyone, regardless of political affiliations, yet the Congress cannot resist injecting politics into it.
Chugh urged the Congress to consider the views of prominent figures like senior Congress leader Karan Singh, who supported the ceremony. He called on the Congress to respect the faith of the people of the nation.
