Ayodhya, 12th Jan. The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday issued an order to close all liquor shops in the state on January 22, the day of the consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The Additional Excise Commissioner (Administration), Gyaneshwar Tripathi, stated in the order sent to all district magistrates that on January 22, there will be a consecration ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and as a result, all liquor shops will be closed on that day.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, referring to the occasion as a “national festival,” announced on Tuesday that liquor shops in the state should be closed on January 22.
The state government has already declared a holiday for all educational institutions in the state on January 22.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Adityanath, and other dignitaries will be attending the consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
