Congress Sets Up Election Committees for Eight States

The Congress has formed election committees for several states, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, and Himachal Pradesh. Additionally, a political affairs committee has been established for Madhya Pradesh. This decision has been made in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls scheduled for this year.

An official communication from the party stated, “The Congress president has approved the proposal for the formation of Pradesh Election Committees for Rajasthan, Kerala, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura, as well as the Pradesh Election Committee and Political Affairs Committee for Madhya Pradesh, effective immediately.”

Govind Singh Dotasra, the Rajasthan PCC chief, has been appointed as the chairman of the Pradesh Election Committee in the state. The committee also includes former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and several other members.

The committee for Kerala is chaired by K Sudhakar and includes prominent leaders such as A K Antony, K C Venugopal, Ramesh Chennithala, and Shashi Tharoor.

In Telangana, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy leads the Pradesh Election Committee, with BhattibVikramarka Mallu, Uttam Kumar Reddy, and V Hanumantha Rao as members.

Pratibha Singh, the PCC chief of Himachal Pradesh, heads the Pradesh Election Committee in the state. The committee also includes Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and other senior leaders.

Jitu Patwari is the chairman of the Pradesh Election Committee for Madhya Pradesh, with Digvijaya Singh, Kamal Nath, and others as members. A Political Affairs Committee for Madhya Pradesh has also been established, led by Jitendra Singh.

Deepak Baij serves as the chairman of the Pradesh Election Committee for Chhattisgarh, with Bhupesh Baghel and T S Singh Deo among the members.

In Manipur, K Meghachandra Singh chairs the Pradesh Election Committee, with Ibobi Singh and Gaikhangam as members. S Supongmeren Jamir and Asish Kumar Saha are the chairmen of the Pradesh Election Committees for Nagaland and Tripura, respectively.
