Etah, 4th Jan. A Station House Officer (SHO) was wounded by a gunshot on Wednesday when he intervened in a clash between two groups in the neighboring Kasganj district, according to the police.
Kasganj SP Saurabh Dixit stated that SHO Haribhan Singh of Sikandarpur had arrived at the scene with a police force after receiving information about gunfire during a dispute over cattle between the two groups.
Haribhan Singh tried to stop the individuals causing disturbance at the Sikandarpur location, but he was shot and injured in the process, the officer explained.
Once the SHO was injured, the group responsible for the gunfire fled the scene.
The SP reported that the injured SHO has been transferred to Aligarh Medical College in critical condition.
Police have established multiple teams to apprehend the individuals involved in the shooting incident.
