Mamata Urges TMC Members to Resist Evil Forces and Protect Democratic Rights on Party’s Foundation Day

Kolkata, 1st Jan. On the occasion of the Trinamool Congress (TMC) foundation day on Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended her congratulations to TMC workers. She emphasized the importance of standing firm against any evil forces and continuing the ongoing struggle to safeguard the democratic rights of the people.
Banerjee highlighted the significance of TMC’s formation on January 1, 1998, stating that it was born out of a strong commitment to serve the nation, protect state interests, and champion the cause of democratic rights for all citizens.
In a statement, Banerjee expressed her deep respect and gratitude towards the dedication and sacrifices made by every TMC worker and supporter. She acknowledged the love and affection the TMC family has received from all quarters.
Banerjee pledged to persist in her fight for the common people of the country, stating, “With your unwavering support, we will continue to fight for the rights of every citizen in this great democratic nation. We will not surrender to any evil forces. Despite all challenges, we will continue our lifelong struggle for the common people.”
TMC emerged from the Congress party in 1998 and gained power in 2011 by defeating the Left Front regime, following unsuccessful attempts in 2001 and 2006. This victory was fueled by widespread public discontent against the communists.
Mamata Banerjee, a prominent figure in West Bengal politics, led TMC to a resounding victory in the 2021 assembly elections, securing her position as chief minister for the third consecutive term.
