New Delhi, 24th Oct. Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will be attending the 7th Edition of Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from October 24th to 25th, 2023.
During the event, he will meet with dignitaries from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the Energy Minister, Commerce Minister, Investment Minister, Industry and Mineral Resources Minister, and the Governor of the Public Investment Fund.
Goyal will co-chair a session on strategies for emerging economies in the new industrial policy era and interact with the Indian community in Saudi Arabia.
He is also expected to meet with business leaders and CEOs from around the world.
The FII Institute is a global nonprofit foundation launched by Saudi Arabia, aiming to bring together government and business leaders to discuss investment opportunities and create a global impact.
The theme for the 7th Edition of FII is “The New Compass,” focusing on the new global order. The event will see participation from leading investors, business leaders, policymakers, inventors, and explorers.
Saudi Arabia is an important strategic partner for India, with trade between the two countries reaching a record high of USD 52.75 billion in FY 2022-23.
The establishment of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council further demonstrates the cooperation between the two countries.
In September 2023, the Prime Minister of India and the Saudi Crown Prince co-chaired the first summit-level meeting of the council, discussing areas such as energy security, trade and investment, defense and security, healthcare, and food security.
The presence of Minister Goyal at the 7th FII is expected to enhance the strategic partnership and cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia in various fields.
