New Delhi, 9th Feb: Several schools across Delhi received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, triggering a security alert and large-scale checks by emergency and police teams.

According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the first call was received at 8:33 am, following which fire tenders and bomb disposal squads were rushed to the affected locations.

At least nine schools across different parts of the capital received the threats. These include Loreto Convent School in Delhi Cantonment, Cambridge School in Srinivaspuri, Venkateshwar School in Rohini, CM School in Rohini, Bal Bharati School in Rohini, Cambridge School in New Friends Colony, The Indian School in Sadiq Nagar, and DTA School in INA. Officials said more institutions were reporting similar threats.

The email reportedly contained provocative and disturbing messages, claiming, “Delhi will become Khalistan. Punjab is Khalistan. In memory of Afzal Guru.” It also mentioned a threat of a blast in Parliament on February 13 at 1:11 pm.

Security agencies immediately launched search and evacuation operations at the schools. Bomb squads, police teams and fire officials conducted thorough inspections of the premises.

Officials said the checks were being carried out as a precautionary measure and no explosives had been found at the time of reporting. Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible.

Further details are awaited as the security sweep continues.
