40 teachers with fake degrees caught by SIT, out of which 14 booked in Uttarakhand

Dehradun, 13th July. Taking action against the teachers who were appointed with fake degrees SIT formed to investigate the case has seized the fake degrees of 120 such teachers in Uttarakhand. Out of these, 80 have been booked in the past. Permission has been sought from the Director General against 40 teachers. Out of these, 14 teachers of Rudraprayag district alone have been recommended for trial while the action is being initiated against the remaining such teachers.
The government had ordered an SIT inquiry into teachers appointed from 2012 to 2016. The CBCID SIT investigating teachers with fake degree began investigation against 9602 teachers. 64641 teachers are under examination of their degree, eligibility, and other documents. The SIT has so far examined 35722 records and has found 120 teachers with fake degrees. SIT ASP Lokjit Singh, who is investigating the SIT, said that 28919 records are under investigation. The recommendation for the case has been sought from Director General of School Education after the degrees of 40 teachers were found to be fake. Out of these, the government has government has given recommendation to register case against 14 teachers in Rudprayag district.
