J&K, 8th July. Four terrorists from Hizbul Mujahideen were discovered hiding in a bunker built within an almirah after being neutralized by the Indian Army during a recent operation in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to sources, the terrorists were hiding at a civilian’s house in the Chinnigam Frisal district of Kulgam, which was the location of the hideout. Additionally, according to NDTV, concerned officials are looking into whether or not residents provided refuge to the terrorists.

A video that shows the aftermath of the encounter is making the rounds on social media. Security officers are seen in the video examining what looks to be a modest but well-defended concrete bunker hidden behind a wardrobe in a residential building.

Six Hizbul militants were slain in separate engagements in south Kashmir, while two Indian Army troops also lost their lives in the encounter.

One elite para-commando soldier was among the two soldiers who gave their lives in battle. Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir RR Swain remarked that neutralizing so many terrorists is a significant accomplishment when discussing the current operations in the region.

“Chinar Corps Commander, Chief Secretary of J-K, DGP J-K, and other dignitaries and all ranks paid homage to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Kulgam on 06 Jul 2024,” the Indian Army’s Chinar Corps tweeted on Sunday.
