New Delhi, 21st Dec. A 26-year-old man, Himanshu, was fatally stabbed in his apartment in Delhi’s Narela area on Friday, allegedly over a financial dispute. The victim was sharing the apartment with his friend, Sumit Kaushik, officials said.
According to a preliminary investigation, the incident stemmed from a ₹45,000 loan Sumit had given to one of the accused, Ravi, who failed to repay the amount. Himanshu reportedly visited Ravi’s residence in Safiyabad earlier in the day and threatened his family with “consequences” if the debt remained unpaid.
Later that evening, Ravi, along with three accomplices, Sahil (24), Ashish (26), and Akshay Khatri, went to Himanshu’s apartment around 6 PM. They attacked and stabbed Himanshu before fleeing the scene.
“A PCR call was received at 6:28 PM. Initial investigations reveal that Himanshu was attacked by four individuals,” a senior police official stated.
Himanshu, who had been living with Sumit for the past four months, succumbed to his injuries. Police have arrested Ravi, Sahil, and Ashish, while the fourth accused, Akshay, remains at large. A case of murder has been registered, and the accused are being interrogated.
The incident sparked political reactions, with AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal criticizing the Centre over rising crimes in the capital. “Another painful murder. Delhi is bleeding, and the BJP government at the Centre is sitting idle. How long will the people of Delhi tolerate such conditions?” Kejriwal wrote on X.
The investigation continues, with police efforts underway to apprehend the absconding accused.
