Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. The summit commemorates Gujarat’s two decades of success as a worldwide economic powerhouse. Dignitaries including the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and global business tycoons such as Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Natarajan Chandrasekaran attended this historic event.
At the start of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel warmly welcomed delegates from over 130 countries, emphasising the summit’s critical role in furthering international collaboration. CM Patel stated, “I extend a warm welcome to leaders from 34 partner countries and over 130 nations attending the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. PM Modi has introduced the concept of ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’ to a global audience. The achievements of Bharat’s G20 presidency have instilled enormous pride in the country.”
The summit featured an impressive gathering of global executives, symbolising Gujarat’s growing international relevance as a desired economic destination.
Furthermore, the participation of high-profile businesses and international leaders would benefit Bharat’s future economic prospects, as well as boost bilateral connections with nations such as the UAE. It’s only the first day of the event, and we’ve already seen big names like Toshihiro Suzuki, Mukesh Ambani, and Gautam Adani praise Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Gujarat’s progress, while also promising to launch new ventures to boost manufacturing and trade. In an unexpected declaration, the Prime Minister also predicted that Bharat will be one of the top three economies over the next few years.

Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Japan, expressed gratitude for being a part of the occasion, recognising the tremendous progress in Bharat’s automotive sector under PM Modi’s strong leadership over the last decade. He stated that Bharat has now become the world’s seventh-largest automotive market, with considerable increases in production and exports.
Suzuki Japan’s production in Bharat is predicted to expand by 1.6 times, resulting in a 1.7 times increase in exports for the current fiscal year. Suzuki plans to invest Rs. 3,200 crore in Gujarat for a new production line, with the goal of manufacturing 2.5 lakh units per year and increasing overall production from 7.5 lakh to 1 million units.
Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Ltd, greeted attendees at the start of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024. Recognising the summit’s 20-year history and global significance, Ambani attributed its continued success to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership.
Ambani emphasised the event’s long-term progress, saying, “Welcome to Gujarat and the 10th Vibrant Gujarat event—the world’s most distinguished investment forum. No other summit of this magnitude has shown two decades of sustained improvement. This is a testimony to Prime Minister Modi’s vision and steadfastness.”
Ambani expressed optimism in Bharat’s economic future, stating that the youth today had an excellent opportunity to create and contribute to national success. He praised Prime Minister Modi for creating a solid basis for a thriving Bharat and predicted that Gujarat alone would grow to a $3 trillion economy. Ambani stated that India, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, is on course to become a $35 trillion economy by 2047.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has also announced plans for an astonishing investment of more than Rs 2 lakh crore in Gujarat, with a primary focus on creating a massive green energy plant that will be visible from space. The businessman stated that this huge investment is likely to create approximately 1 lakh jobs. Adani emphasised Bharat’s exceptional economic achievements since 2014, claiming a huge 185% growth in GDP and an unparalleled 165 percent increase in per capita income in the face of tough geopolitical and epidemiological concerns.
N Chandrasekharan, Chairman of Tata Sons, said that the Tata Group plans to develop a semiconductor facility in Dholera, Gujarat. Chandrasekaran also unveiled plans for a 20 GW gigafactory in Sanand that will manufacture lithium-ion batteries, with building slated to begin within the next two months. The business is also on the approach of completing talks for a “huge semiconductor fab” in Dholera, with plans to begin operations in 2024. Aside from this, important business leaders such as Shankar Trivedi, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Jeffery Chun, and N Chandrashekaran discussed their prospective and ongoing initiatives in the state.

Two curtain-raising celebrations are being planned in New Delhi and Mumbai.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 will be held from January 10th to 12th, 2024. A session on Gujarat’s Roadmap to Viksit Bharat @ 2047, an MSME colloquium, and other events were among the summit’s highlights.
