Tadepalli, 17th June. YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy emphasized that his party will extend issue-based support to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), keeping the state and nation’s interests in mind. Addressing YSRCP MPs at his camp office in Tadepalli, he reminded the NDA of the party’s significant presence in Parliament, with 15 MPs.
The YSRCP has 11 MPs in the Rajya Sabha and four in the Lok Sabha. Reddy highlighted that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has 16 MPs, positioning YSRCP as equally powerful. “None can touch us. We need to be brave and stand by the people,” he asserted.
Reddy instructed YSRCP MPs to prioritize the nation’s interest while in Parliament and indicated the party’s openness to supporting the BJP-led NDA government on matters beneficial to both Andhra Pradesh and the country. Vijay Sai Reddy will continue as the YSRCP leader in the Rajya Sabha, while Midhun Reddy will lead in the Lok Sabha. Y.V. Subba Reddy will serve as the YSRCP Parliamentary Party leader.
Emphasizing the party’s principles and ideology, Reddy urged MPs to work in ways that enhance the YSRCP’s image. Reflecting on the party’s governance from 2019 to 2024, he encouraged the rank and file to maintain their resolve, promising that YSRCP will regain the trust and confidence of the people.
The YSRCP received 40% of the votes in the recent election, a 10% decline from the previous election. Reddy expressed confidence that voters would eventually recognize the YSRCP’s merits over the TDP, asserting that the challenges faced by the party are temporary. “The people will compare the YSRCP and TDP rule, and we will come back to power,” he added.
