Youth Found Murdered in Jamshedpur School, Police Launch Probe

Jamshedpur: Tension gripped the Ulidih OP area of Jamshedpur on Friday after the blood-soaked body of a local youth was discovered in a government school on Kunwar Singh Road.

The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Saurabh Sharma, also known as Pawan, a resident of Ulidih. According to police sources, Sharma was brutally murdered, with his throat slit using a sharp weapon.

Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination. Investigations are underway to ascertain the motive behind the killing and identify those responsible.

Family members reported that Sharma left home on Thursday evening. They last spoke to him around 9 PM, after which his phone became unreachable. When he did not return home, the family searched nearby areas and contacted relatives but found no trace.

The shocking discovery was made on Friday morning when locals spotted the body inside a classroom on the school’s second floor and informed authorities. The news quickly spread, drawing a large crowd. Sharma’s family identified the body shortly after police arrived.

Police sources revealed that Sharma was last seen on a video call with his cousin Raju around 9 PM on Thursday. After the call ended, Sharma’s phone was switched off. Investigators have questioned Raju and are pursuing other leads.

Preliminary inquiries suggest that Sharma may have been a drug addict, raising questions about how he accessed the closed school premises. However, his family denied any knowledge of enmity or disputes involving him.

A senior police official at the scene assured that a thorough investigation is underway. “We are pursuing all angles and will ensure those responsible are brought to justice,” the official stated.
