Youth Enthusiasm and Achievements will Give Tribal Society New Direction: Governor Uikey

Raipur, 27th Oct. Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey, during her stay in Chhindwara, on Wednesday participated in the youth tribal talent award and social meeting ceremony. On this occasion, she encouraged the talented youth of the society and honored them.

In the program, Governor Uikey while congratulating the honored youth said that the tribal society would get a new direction due to the enthusiasm and achievements of the youth.

She said that awareness of their rights, preservation and promotion of culture and proper utilization of the potential of the youth would uplift the tribal society and they would be able to join the mainstream soon with the strong leadership of the youth.

The Governor said that many rights have been given to the tribal communities in the Constitution, people must be aware of these provisions so that they can protect their own interests. She said that today under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, the tribal society has got an opportunity to become proud and a tribal woman has become the President of the country by occupying the highest position.

With this change, the tribal society has got a strong voice and a new identity and the daughters and women of the tribal community would get inspiration to move forward.

Governor Uikey further said that due to quantitative errors in the names of some tribes of Chhattisgarh, they were not getting the benefits of government schemes. With the initiative of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the Union Cabinet has given approval to include 12 communities of Chhattisgarh in the Scheduled Tribes.

She said that for the progress of tribal society, special attention is needed on education. Education makes you aware of rights and you are able to protect your interests. For the betterment of the tribal society, along with the government efforts, direct and indirect cooperation of the people of the society will also be required.

The Governor said that social workers and intellectuals will have to play their part in this work.

A large number of youths from the tribal society including Dr. Deependra Sallame, Dr. Rajinikanth Parte, Ms. Madhuri Bhalavi was present on this occasion.
