You Violated Peace, Now Face the Fire: India to Pakistan

India Slams Pakistan Over Ceasefire Breach, Vows Strong Response

New Delhi, 11th May:
Hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire across land, sea, and air starting from 5 PM today, India has confirmed that Pakistan violated the truce by deploying drones and triggering explosions in Jammu and Kashmir.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, addressing a press briefing late Saturday evening, termed the violations a “very, very serious” breach of the mutually agreed understanding. He said the Indian armed forces have been instructed to remain on high alert and respond firmly to any further provocation.

“There have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan,” Misri said.
“We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility.”

The ceasefire agreement had been hailed as a step toward reducing hostilities in the aftermath of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. However, the violations — marked by the presence of drones and explosions in Indian territory — have quickly escalated tensions again.

Misri added that Indian forces are maintaining a strong vigil along the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC), and will respond decisively to any further aggression.
