Mumbai, 10th Dec. The World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) 2024 will take place later this month in Mumbai, India’s financial capital. The event aims to encourage the Hindu community to embrace entrepreneurship and actively influence policy narratives. The forum will be held at a renowned convention center in the BKC business district, starting Friday.
Prominent speakers at the event will include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
Ravikant Mishra, Secretary of the organising committee, highlighted the growing trend of job-seeking among the youth and the tendency to blame the government for insufficient job creation. He pointed out that the objective of the forum is to inspire the youth to become job creators rather than job seekers.
Mishra also noted that the WHEF, which has been held annually since 2012, would make policy recommendations, emphasizing the need for true innovation. He criticized the government’s focus on “copy-paste” jobs and stressed the importance of fostering genuine innovation.
The forum will amplify the voices of Hindu entrepreneurs, unlike industry lobby groups like CII and Ficci, which represent only a limited segment of the community, according to Mishra. He further emphasized the need for Hindus to influence global narratives, drawing comparisons to the successful impact of the Jewish community on the world stage.
Corporate leaders from major companies, including Axis Bank, L&T, Bharat Forge, and LIC, will also share their insights at the forum, offering their perspectives on entrepreneurship and policy.
The WHEF aims to create an inclusive platform for all Hindu entrepreneurs and advocates for policy changes that support innovation and economic growth.
