Sahibganj, 20th Sept. Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday slammed the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led government for indulging in “vote bank politics” and vowed that if the BJP came to power, it would expel all illegal immigrants from the state.
Speaking at a rally after launching the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Yatra’ from the Police Line Ground in Sahibganj, Shah accused the JMM of “patronizing infiltration” for electoral gain, leading to a decline in the tribal population in Santhal Pargana from 44% to 28%.
“Infiltrators are the vote banks of the RJD, Congress, and JMM. We will drive out illegal immigrants and bring change to Jharkhand,” Shah declared, urging the public to vote for a government that would prioritize public welfare over protecting infiltrators.
He also promised to provide Rs 10 lakh in free healthcare coverage for poor people aged 75 and above, as part of the BJP’s manifesto.
Shah further alleged that the Hemant Soren-led administration was the “most corrupt” in the country, accusing it of involvement in several scams, including a Rs 1,000 crore MNREGA scam, a Rs 1,000 crore mining scam, a Rs 600 crore land scam, and a Rs 40 crore liquor scam. He also accused the state government of illegally seizing Army land.
The ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ launched ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, will cover 5,400 km across 81 assembly constituencies in 24 districts, aiming to expose the failures of the JMM-led government. The yatra will conclude on October 2, with around 50 national and state-level BJP leaders, including several chief ministers, participating in the campaign.
Later in the day, Shah will visit Jharkhandi Dham in Giridih district and launch the party’s program for the Dhanbad division, where he will also address a public gathering.
