New Delhi, 25th August. In his 113th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated India’s recent achievements and underscored the country’s ongoing efforts towards development. The episode, aired on August 25, 2024, featured a mix of national accomplishments and dialogues with young innovators from the space sector.
Modi commenced his address by greeting the nation and revisiting the landmark achievement of Chandrayaan-3. He noted the significance of August 23 as the first National Space Day, commemorating India’s successful lunar landing last year. “India became the first country to achieve this historic feat,” he said.
The Prime Minister then connected with a team from the Spacetech startup GalaxEye, founded by IIT-Madras alumni Suyash, Daniel, Rakshit, Kishan, and Praneet. He lauded their achievements and discussed their contributions to the space sector. Suyash highlighted the team’s success with the Hyperloop project and their transition into space technology, while Rakshit explained their satellite’s potential for national security and agricultural improvements. Kishan and Daniel discussed the positive impacts of recent space sector reforms and the shift in engineering students’ aspirations towards domestic opportunities.
Modi also expressed his admiration for the startup’s work and emphasized the broader impact of reforms on the space ecosystem. He encouraged more youth to pursue careers in startups and space technology, reflecting on how the current environment supports innovation and growth.
The address further touched upon the immense response to his call for non-political youth to enter the political arena, revealing that many young people are eager to participate in politics if given the opportunity.
Highlighting national unity and pride, Modi praised the success of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which saw widespread participation in displaying the Indian flag. He showcased various regional celebrations, including a 750-meter-long flag rally over the Chenab Railway Bridge and Tiranga yatras in Arunachal Pradesh and Srinagar.
The Prime Minister also shared heartwarming stories from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, where communities have demonstrated remarkable efforts in wildlife conservation and environmental sustainability. He highlighted initiatives like 3-D printing of animal parts to prevent poaching and waste-to-art transformations by sanitation workers in Madhya Pradesh.
In closing, Modi emphasized the importance of nutrition and the upcoming Nutrition Month, urging people to engage in efforts to combat malnutrition. He also extended festive greetings for Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, and Telugu Bhasha Diwas.
The episode concluded with a call to support Indian athletes in the upcoming Paralympics and continued participation in national campaigns like ‘Catch the Rain’ and ‘Ek Ped Ek Maan Ke Naam.’
