New Delhi- Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the post-budget webinar on agriculture and rural prosperity, emphasizing the government’s commitment to the development of the agricultural sector and the upliftment of villages. He reiterated the resolve towards Viksit Bharat, stressing that farmers remain central to the country’s growth.
PM Modi underscored the importance of the PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, which aims to develop 100 districts with the lowest agricultural productivity. He highlighted record-breaking agricultural output, increasing from 265 million tons a decade ago to over 330 million tons today. Horticulture production has also exceeded 350 million tons.
The Prime Minister announced the formation of a Makhana Board in Bihar and stressed the growing investment in horticulture, dairy, and fisheries to meet rising nutritional demands. He noted that the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has provided ₹3.75 lakh crore to farmers, directly benefitting 11 crore cultivators.
He also highlighted the success of the PM Awas Yojana-Gramin and Swamitva Yojana, which have contributed to rural economic growth. Modi emphasized the government’s focus on technology and skilling programs to generate employment opportunities in rural areas.
The Prime Minister called on stakeholders to ensure the swift implementation of budget initiatives, reaffirming the government’s commitment to enriching rural India.
