VP Dhankhar Unveils Statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on 108th Birth Anniversary

Sikar, 26th Sept. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday unveiled a statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University in Sikar, Rajasthan, commemorating the visionary leader’s 108th birth anniversary. The occasion also marked the inauguration of the “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Samiti Udyan,” celebrating his enduring legacy.

During his address, Vice President Dhankhar underscored the timeless relevance of Pandit Deendayal’s philosophy, highlighting his focus on individual development and social empowerment, particularly through his concept of Antyodaya, which emphasizes uplifting the most marginalized.

He further reflected on the privilege of unveiling the statue, expressing gratitude for being influenced by Pandit Deendayal’s teachings. Dhankhar also urged attendees to embrace the Prime Minister’s initiative of planting trees in their mother’s name, connecting it to a sense of responsibility toward society and the environment.

The Vice President stressed the importance of India’s hard-won independence, calling on the youth to learn from the country’s historical struggles, particularly the Emergency period, and encouraged them to seize diverse opportunities in a growing India.

The event was attended by Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Prem Chand Bairwa, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anil Kumar Rai, among other dignitaries.
