New Delhi, 13th August.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar delivered a stirring address at the flagging off ceremony of the ‘Har-Ghar Tiranga’ rally, marking a significant lead-up to the 78th Independence Day.

The Vice-President extended warm greetings to fellow citizens, highlighting the day’s significance as a milestone towards achieving Bharat’s vision of a developed nation by 2047. He noted the vibrant energy of the media and the nation, reflecting the spirit of the moment.

The Vice-President emphasized the importance of the ‘Har-Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, launched as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in 2021 to encourage citizens to display the national flag at their homes. He expressed confidence that this year’s celebration will set a new record with every home adorned with the Tiranga.

“This initiative aims to ignite a sense of patriotism and raise awareness about our national flag. It is commendable to see citizens imbued with a national spirit,” he said. He praised the country’s recent achievements, noting that global institutions have recognized India’s remarkable progress.

He reflected on India’s transformation from being a concern over its economic status to emerging as one of the world’s major powers. The Tiranga, he said, symbolizes our identity and pride, and serves as a reminder that national interest must always come before political gains.

Recalling historic moments, the Vice-President mentioned Subhas Chandra Bose’s first hoisting of the Indian flag on Andaman Islands in 1943 and the ongoing tribute to freedom fighters. He also praised the collective efforts to celebrate and honor the freedom struggle.

The Vice-President warned against forces attempting to undermine India’s progress and urged citizens to remain vigilant against those seeking to destabilize the nation. He emphasized unity and the importance of prioritizing national interests over individual or political gains.

In closing, he called upon all Indians to embrace the spirit of the Tiranga and contribute to making the upcoming Independence Day a celebration of national pride. “Let every home proudly display the Tiranga, and let it wave high as a symbol of our unity and strength. Let us ensure that the flag’s honor continues to rise, regardless of the challenges,” he concluded.
