Lakshadweep, 16, Jan: The Vice-President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, is set to embark on his maiden visit to Lakshadweep from January 17 to 19, 2025. This marks his first official trip to the Union Territory since assuming office.
The Vice-President’s three-day itinerary includes significant public engagements and developmental activities. On January 17, Shri Dhankhar will attend a public function and inaugurate several public projects aimed at improving infrastructure and services in the region.
On January 19, he is scheduled to interact with members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and beneficiaries of various government schemes. This interaction is expected to provide valuable insights into the impact of welfare initiatives on the local community.
The visit underscores the Union government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity, development, and opportunities in Lakshadweep, as well as its focus on grassroots empowerment through SHGs.
