Guwahati, 25th June. In response to the overwhelming influx of visitors during the ongoing Ambubachi Mela, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has organized a free medical camp at three locations within the Maa Kamakhya Temple premises . The camp is set up from 22 /06/24 to 25/06/24 in order to provide essential medical services to the lakhs of devotees arriving daily from across Bharat and various parts of the world.
With the temperatures soaring and the devotees walking continuously to reach the temple, cases of dehydration and other health issues have been rising. The team of dedicated doctors from the Ayurvedic Chikitsa Mahavidyalaya at the medical camp is working tirelessly to ensure the health and well-being of the pilgrims. The camp provides immediate treatment for dehydration by distributing ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) mixed in water to those affected. Additionally, the medical team conducts routine checks for blood pressure and offers other necessary treatments to visitors experiencing health problems due to the strenuous journey.

Their dedicated service to pilgrims, providing essential support and ensuring a smooth and safe experience, exemplifies their commitment to community welfare and spiritual devotion, enhancing the festival’s significance and enriching the pilgrim’s journey.

The Ambubachi Mela is one of the most significant religious gatherings in Assam. This year, the event has seen an unprecedented turnout, with lakhs of visitors making their way to the temple every day. The team of doctors conveyed , “We are committed to providing the best possible care to all devotees. Our primary goal is to address any immediate health concerns and prevent serious issues arising from dehydration and exhaustion.”
Visitors have expressed their gratitude for the initiative. The free medical camp has been a blessing. After a long journey, receiving proper medical attention has made it easier for us to participate in the Mandir Darshan for devotees as told by some pilgrims from Delhi .
