VHP Guwahati Submits Memorandum to President Over Bengal Violence, Seeks President’s Rule

Guwahati | April 19, 2025 — Amid growing concern over violence against Hindus in West Bengal, the Guwahati Metropolitan Committee of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) held a peaceful protest on Friday and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Hon’ble President of India. The demonstration, held at the Sasul protest site in Borbari, called for President’s Rule in West Bengal and highlighted what the VHP described as the continued inaction of the state government in curbing targeted attacks.

The memorandum was handed over to Additional Deputy Commissioner Benazir Elias, who received it on behalf of the District Commissioner.

During the protest, VHP Guwahati Metropolitan President Sabin Rajkhowa addressed the gathering, joined by Northeast regional editor Brajjyoti Sharma, RSS representative Alok Tripathi, BJP’s city unit editor Vijay Pathak, and social worker Ranjit Sharma. They spoke about the need to protect minority voices in the region and urged the central government to take decisive action to restore law and order in West Bengal.

The event saw the participation of VHP workers, members from various branches of the RSS, and supporters from affiliated organizations. The speakers emphasized that the protest was not just political but also a moral response to the suffering of innocent people.

Concluding the program, VHP city editor Ratul Deka thanked all the attendees for standing united in the cause and contributing to the peaceful yet impactful demonstration.
