Dehradun, 19th May. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered the suspension of a Regional Transport Officer on Wednesday for not reaching office on time, officials said.
CM Dhami issued the suspension order of RTO Dinesh Chandra Pathoi during a surprise inspection of the Regional Transport Office at Rajpur Road, Dehradun, the officials said.
During the visit, CM Dhami found Dinesh Chandra Pathoi absent along with 80 percent of the staff despite people standing in queue to get their vehicle-related issues resolved, officials said.
Dhami was evidently unhappy to find RTO Pathoi absent from office during duty hours, the officials added.
CM Dhami had recently issued orders for strict execution of the biometric system of attendance in government offices to confirm that officials come to office on time.
CM Pushkar Dhami asked state Transport Secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki, who was accompanying him, to suspend Dinesh Chandra Pathoi with immediate effect and also take strict action against others who were absent from office at 10.30 am.
Orders for Dinesh Chandra Pathoi’s suspension have already been issued, officials said.
