Dehradun, 22nd July. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Sunday that the state government will introduce a proposal for the reservation of Agniveers in government and police jobs. Addressing a press conference, Dhami emphasized that Agniveers from the state would be given job opportunities post their national service.
“The state government will bring a proposal to the Cabinet for reserving positions for Agniveers. This decision aligns with our commitment to support those who have served the nation,” Dhami said.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the decision to offer jobs to Agniveers was made after consultations with military officers and veterans when the Agniveer scheme was first introduced.
In addition, on Guru Purnima, Dhami participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ tree plantation campaign alongside his mother. He urged citizens to plant a tree in honor of their mothers as part of the campaign organized by the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) in Dehradun.
“Planting trees not only honors our mothers but also contributes to a greener environment. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, this campaign has seen millions of trees planted across the country,” Dhami said. He reiterated the importance of protecting nature and fulfilling environmental responsibilities.
