Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Holds Crucial Meeting with Forest Dept Officials

Dehradun, 21st July. Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Ritu Khandudi Bhushan held a meeting with Forest Department officials, during which Chief Conservator of Forests of Garhwal Division Sushant Patnaik and DFO Lansdowne Forest Division Dinkar Tiwari were present.
The Speaker, taking cognizance of the death of a woman in Dugadda Godi village of Kotdwar on Tuesday morning, directed the officials to pay compensation to the family members at the earliest.
Rina Devi, wife Manoj Chaudhary of Docki village under Dugda range of Lansdowne division was returning after dropping her child to school in the morning. When Guldar (Tiger) attacked the woman. The woman died on the spot.
The Speaker immediately took cognizance of the incident and convened a meeting of forest department officials at her official residence in Dehradun.
In the meeting, the Speaker asked the officials to immediately pay compensation to the affected families and directed to catch guldar (Tiger) by putting up a cage in the area. She called for a concrete plan to reduce human and wildlife conflict.
