USA and Myanmar to Conduct Joint Military Exercises with India in Meghalaya this Year

New Delhi, 4th Nov. USA and Myanmar will join India in holding military exercises at Meghalaya’s Umroi Cantonment.
The exercises will take place later this month and in December. The Malaysian army is currently conducting a bilateral exercise at the same location.
The Umroi Cantonment has been chosen as the venue for these exercises due to its favorable weather conditions and terrain. Since its establishment in 2017, the training node at Umroi has hosted joint exercises with eight foreign countries.
The upcoming exercises will involve the USA and Myanmar. The training area at Umroi spans 2,500 acres and includes state-of-the-art facilities for counter-terrorist operations.
The ongoing ‘Exercise Harimau Shakti 2023’ between India and Malaysia is focused on physical fitness, tactical drills, and sharing best practices.
