New Delhi, 12th Dec. A Uttar Pradesh government delegation led by state Finance Minister Suresh Khanna and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s advisor, Awanish Awasthi, will visit New York and San Francisco this week to attract investors for the state under the ‘Invest UP’ initiative, according to a press release issued by the UP government on Sunday.
The delegation’s primary focus will be on IT and electronics, agriculture and food processing, defence and aerospace, pharmaceutical and medical device, energy, venture capitalist, retail, automobile components, electric vehicles, and textiles.
According to the release, the delegation will include Arvind Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary and CEO of ‘Invest UP,’ Amit Singh, Secretary to CM Yogi Adityanath, and UP MLA Siddharth Nath Singh.
On December 12, the delegation will meet with the Indian diaspora in New York. On December 13, there will be an Investor Showcase for the ‘Uttar Pradesh Global Investor Summit 2023.’
Randhir Jaiswal, Consular General of India, will deliver the opening remarks at both events. The vote of thanks will be presented by Deputy Consul General Varun Jeph.
Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will also speak at both events via video conference.
On December 14, the delegation will depart for San Francisco. On December 15, it will take part in the Investor Showcase for the ‘Uttar Pradesh Global Investor Summit 2023.’
Dr. Nagendra Prasad, Consulate General of India in San Francisco, will deliver the welcome address as well as the vote of thanks at the event.
During the visit, the delegation will also meet with several US companies and startups in order to attract investment for the state in the targeted sectors, according to the release.
On December 18, the delegation will return to India.
