New Delhi, 1st December, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has strongly criticized the Congress party for blaming Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) following their election losses. Speaking on Sunday, Shekhawat suggested that Congress should clarify its victory in the Jharkhand elections, given the party’s frequent complaints about EVMs after losses.
“Congress has won Jharkhand; they should clarify the win. The situation resembles a frustrated cat scratching at a pillar,” Shekhawat remarked, referencing Congress’s blame on EVMs in past elections. He added that the BJP had predicted such complaints after the Maharashtra election results, saying, “Whenever parties lose elections, they tend to blame the EVMs.”
Shekhawat also reiterated the BJP’s confidence in its electoral success, stating that the people of India and Rajasthan have rejected the Congress and its leadership. He claimed that Congress’s divisive politics and exposed conduct would no longer be tolerated by the electorate.
In a separate statement on the occasion of BSF Raising Day, Shekhawat highlighted the role of the Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) and Border Security Force (BSF) in securing India’s borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh. He emphasized that these forces are the only central armed police units capable of conducting operations on land, water, and air, underscoring their importance in national security. He also credited former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the creation of the Seema Suraksha Bal to enhance border security.
