Mumbai, 19th Sept. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has promised Dharavi residents a sports complex.
On his second day in Mumbai on Sunday, the Minister went to Kumbharwada in Dharavi and met with people from various scheduled and non-scheduled communities and tribes.
The Minister listened to the various issues that Dharavi residents are dealing with. He praised local athletes who have won medals despite coming from poor or rural backgrounds with limited resources.
He promised that a new sports complex with all facilities would be built with their needs in mind.
The Minister also assured them that he would discuss the issue of constructing a local railway station and better medical facilities in Dharavi with the relevant departments.
On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birth week, the Information and Broadcasting Minister also paid a visit to the Ashok Singhal Cancer Seva Sadan in Sion, Mumbai, and distributed essential materials to cancer patients.
The Union Minister stated in his address that Ashok Singhal devoted his entire life to service and that his contribution to the construction of Shri Ram Mandir will be remembered forever.
