New Delhi, 6th June. Amidst rising temperatures, the Union Health Ministry on Thursday conducted a virtual meeting with States/UTs to evaluate readiness for heatwaves and ensure fire safety in healthcare facilities. Directives were issued for dedicated heatstroke rooms, dissemination of health advisories, and strengthening of surveillance.
States/UTs were urged to implement comprehensive action plans, conduct mock drills, and enhance staff training to mitigate heat-related illnesses and prevent fire incidents.
Stringent monitoring and proactive measures were highlighted at the state level, with initiatives ranging from mock drills to awareness campaigns and infrastructure upgrades across various regions.”
