Mr. Tomar said this while inaugurating the tenth edition of the three-day Knowledge Exchange Summit organized by Elets Technomedia.
He said that the aim of the government is to improve the economic condition of the farmers, the agriculture sector should benefit from it and the new generation should be attracted towards agriculture. In this summit organized on the subject of agricultural reforms in the country, Chief Guest Mr. Tomar said that in the past few years new dimensions have been added in agriculture and allied sectors. The Prime Minister has made this area a priority, development of states together with the village and poor-farmers is the main goal. Efforts are being made to achieve this.

In line with the far-reaching thinking of the Prime Minister, the government has enacted new agricultural laws aimed at providing a fair price to farmers, increasing the income of farmers and bringing about a paradigm shift in their standard of living. Our goal is to increase the contribution of the agricultural sector to the country’s GDP, which has performed well even during the Corona crisis. The farmers have benefited from all the schemes of the government during this period and the entire agriculture sector has proved its relevance.
Shri Tomar said that along with doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022, concrete steps are being taken to attract the youth towards agriculture and increase employment opportunities. Never before has such an initiative been successfully carried out in any government, as many works have been done for the last 6 years under the leadership of Prime Minister. In order to improve the financial condition of farmers, in the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme launched by the government, farmers get Rs 6 thousand every year directly in their bank account.
