New Delhi, 8th May: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a public alert regarding a fabricated notice circulating under its name. The fake notice claims that all examinations have been cancelled due to a war situation and advises students to return home.
UGC India, through its official social media channels, has confirmed that this notice is entirely fake and that no such directions have been issued by the commission.
The UGC has urged students, parents, and educational institutions to rely solely on information published on the official UGC website and its verified social media accounts for any updates or announcements.
In its alert, the UGC has also emphasized that spreading such misinformation is a punishable offense and has advised everyone to remain vigilant and not to fall prey to fake information.
The commission reiterated that all official updates regarding examinations and other important matters will only be available through official UGC sources.
