Two JeM Terrorists Killed in Sopore Encounter

Srinagar, 1st September. Two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore district, police said on Thursday.

An encounter erupted in the Bomai area of Sopore town on Wednesday night after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation, according to a police official.

He said that during the operation, security personnel shot and killed two terrorists. During the exchange of fire, a civilian was also injured.

A senior police officer said the terrorists were linked to the banned terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed and were planning attacks on civilians.

“Killed JeM terrorists were categorised & identified as Mohd Rafi of Sopore & Kaiser Ashraf of Pulwama. Terrorist Rafi was earlier booked under PSA twice. Both were involved in several terror crime cases. As per input they were planning to attack civilians in Sopore area,” ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar tweeted.
