US Warns Pakistan Over Terror Support, Calls for De-escalation Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

New Delhi, 9th May : Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the White House has issued a stern warning to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, cautioning him of serious consequences if Pakistan does not stop supporting terrorism and cross-border attacks against India.

In an official statement, the White House declared, “Pakistan must immediately cease support for terrorism. If Pakistan refuses to promote peace and stability in the region, the United States will not remain a silent observer.” This strong statement has reportedly triggered panic within Pakistan’s government and military leadership.

According to sources, U.S. intelligence agencies have compiled detailed reports on Pakistan’s ongoing terrorist activities and conspiracies against India. The White House, citing these reports, stressed that Pakistan must take concrete action against terrorist organizations operating within its borders.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is already facing immense domestic pressure due to the country’s economic crisis and growing public dissatisfaction. Rubio reportedly underscored the importance of direct dialogue between the two nuclear-armed neighbors and encouraged both sides to maintain open lines of communication to prevent further escalation. Expressing sorrow over civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict, Rubio reaffirmed U.S. support for efforts aimed at restoring peace in the region.

“Secretary Rubio reiterated that Pakistan must take tangible steps to eliminate any support for terrorist groups,” Bruce added in the statement.

The United States’ dual approach—warning Pakistan while appealing for peace—reflects Washington’s strategic concerns over South Asia’s stability.
