WASHINGTON – According to media reports on Wednesday Donald Trump Jr. arrived in Agra along with 126 guests from 40 countries to visit the Taj Mahal, after the tour, he will head to Udaipur for a high-profile destination wedding.
Donald Trump Jr, is visiting Agra on Thursday for a tour of the Taj Mahal.
He will land at Kheria Airport in a special aircraft before heading to the iconic monument.
This will be his first visit, although his father US President Donald Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump toured the Taj in 2020.
Local authorities have carried out an extensive clean-up along the route, removing stray animals and boosting up security arrangements to ensure a smooth visit.
Trump Jr. is a businessman, is to visit Udaipur later this week to attend the destination wedding of an Indian-American couple.
US security team is already in the city assessing preparedness ahead of his arrival.
The wedding festivities will take place on November 21 and 22.
The main ceremony is scheduled at Jag Mandir Palace on Lake Pichola, while other functions will unfold at Manek Chowk within the City Palace complex.
Sources said Trump Jr will stay at The Leela Palace Udaipur.
The Rajasthan administration has deployed heightened security across Udaipur and along the airport route.
Several politicians, celebrities, and high-profile guests are also expected to attend the two-day celebration.
‘City of Lakes’, Udaipur’s palaces, heritage hotels, and royal architecture have long attracted lavish destination weddings.
The city has hosted celebrations involved Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Hardik Pandya, Isha Ambani, Raveena Tandon, and Neil Nitin Mukesh festivities.
