Tripurainfo.com Publishes Bengali Books on New Criminal Laws

Agartala, 7th Jan. Tripurainfo.com has released a comprehensive book in Bengali covering India’s three new criminal laws: the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act, 2023. The book, aimed at simplifying these laws for the common people, was launched today at Tripurainfo’s Lichubagan office by esteemed members of society.

The publication was developed under the guidance of legal and law enforcement experts, including contributions from Tripura Police, senior advocates, journalists, and retired judges. Notable contributors include SC Das, Chairperson of Tripura Human Rights Commission; retired judge Dr. BK Kilikdar; Senior Advocate Siddhartha Shankar Dey; journalist and Tripurainfo.com Chief Editor Sekhar Dutta; and IPS officer Krishnandu Chakraborty, among others. The foreword was written by Hon’ble Justice Arindam Lodh, while Tripura Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan provided a special message highlighting the book’s importance for both police personnel and the general public.

The launch event was attended by cultural icons like poet Mrinal Kanti Pandit, philanthropist Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, and TV presenter Sanchita Raha.

Editor Jayanta Debnath noted that the book is tailored for Bengali-speaking police officers, defense personnel, young lawyers, law students, and jail staff. With its user-friendly approach, the book is expected to be a valuable resource for understanding the new criminal justice framework.

This publication marks another milestone for Tripurainfo.com in addressing the informational needs of the people of Tripura and beyond.
