The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu paying floral tributes to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary at UPA-Rashtrapati Nivas today

New Delhi: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries today at UPA-Rashtrapati Nivas.

VP Naidu tweeted, “Remembering the Father of the Nation, #MahatmaGandhi on his birth anniversary today. Bapu, through his life and teachings showed us the path of truth, love and selfless service to mankind. His idea of ‘Antyodaya’ guides us to work for the uplift of the last person.#GandhiJayanti.”

Remembering Shastri, he said, “I join the nation in paying tributes to former Prime Minister, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri ji. Shri Shastri was an epitome of simplicity, humility and wisdom. He steered the nation through critical times with his exemplary leadership.”
